Dr. Britta Thomas is a cellist and educator based in Los Angeles, praised for her creativity and expressive strength. Known for her love of new music, she frequently collaborates with contemporary composers and has premiered several works written for her, continuing to expand the cello repertoire.

A passionate educator with over ten years of experience, Dr. Thomas teaches students of all levels and styles, from Suzuki to improvisation. Her students have earned recognition in competitions and performed at Carnegie Hall. She has served as a cello and low strings coach for youth orchestras in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles and has led masterclasses and adjudicated competitions.

Originally from Montana, Dr. Thomas earned her Bachelor of Music at the University of Montana and her Master of Music and Doctorate of Musical Arts from the University of California, Santa Barbara, studying with Professors Fern Glass Boyd and Jennifer Kloetzel. She has received numerous awards and fellowships and performed with the Graduate Fellowship Trio. Beyond music, she holds a Bachelor of Arts in German and is devoted to her pets, Tilda and Moo Moo.
